Mango production, export seasons and wholesale markets

Compare origins, plan purchases and prepare fresh mango specifications for importers, ripeners and wholesalers. Harvest season, commercial shipment window and market eligibility are separate checks.

Producing countries and export regions

India is a major producer and consumer; large output does not imply the largest export flow. Mexico supplies the United States, while Brazil and Peru serve Europe. African origins to compare include Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali, Ghana, Egypt and South Africa. Northern Ivorian growing areas include Korhogo, Sinématiali, Ferkessédougou and Boundiali; Kénédougou is a Burkina Faso production area. Compare Senegal’s Niayes and Casamance regions and verify packing stations and routes.

Indicative export calendar

These are typical planning windows, not guaranteed 2026 shipment dates. Variety, rainfall and logistics change departure weeks. Brazil supplies several varieties year-round, with a narrower Kent campaign. Mali and Burkina Faso harvest windows do not automatically establish access to a destination. Check current origin-specific phytosanitary conditions for Malian mangoes entering the EU before contracting.

Varieties and export preparation

Kent and Keitt suit many low-fibre segments; Palmer, Tommy Atkins, Osteen and niche varieties need their own specification. Agree variety, count, maturity, carton net weight and tolerances. Obtain dated lot photographs, traceability and sanitary checks, then validate ventilated packaging and the appropriate cold chain. Fruit in an orchard is not yet an accepted export lot.

Importing countries and market interpretation

The United States is a major destination; the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, France and Spain are European markets or distribution hubs. HS 080450 also covers guavas and mangosteens, fresh or dried: the table does not rank fresh mango alone. Dutch re-exports matter. Do not add EU totals to member-state figures or equate imports with consumption.

Build a commercial offer

Separate sea-freighted fresh fruit, air-freighted fruit, dried mango and purée. Specify origin, harvest week, container-level volume, packing station, available analyses, named port, transit and acceptance procedure. Stock and prices require a documented offer; named countries do not imply ZARI-approved suppliers.
